hush little baby

nothing will ever be the same again

this new little life,
a SON
around whose brilliance
his parents
realign their orbits

Hush, little baby, don't you cry. Bobby McFerrin and Yo-Yo Ma. It doesn't get much better than this.

That is an admirable painting, Katherine. There's a reality to it that is straight from the heart. Thanks for sharing it.

Your painting says it all, until your words express even more. Love the video!

Sharing this time of your life is a privilege. Thank you. You are generous and full of love. It's in your painting, and in your music choice.

Everytime I hear Bobby McFerrin he becomes more important/magical to me.

Your grannyhood, your painting, and McFerrin's lullaby are more than the sum of their parts.

an outstanding painting, kvan-Gran.. this one has almost a "sacredness" about it, because the Mom looks to have a halo. The best part, to me, is how the kiss goes "through" the baby..and it's therefore shared between the mom and child. Really beautiful!

Sam: Good to hear that the painting speaks without my wordy helps.

Kitty: you have inspired and encouraged me to paint more of what I feel so deeply and to use paintings to express it. Thank you! I think I understand.

Celeste: thank you for your comments. I love hearing that the kiss made sense to you! The connection between a mother and her child is complex and delicious to try to express.

that painting above is so soft and beautiful. Like the love a family offers us. I bet you're enjoying being a grandmom!
