Although at 58 degrees it wasn't especially warm, it was still delightful to get out in the sunshine and paint en plein air. In just about another week, these trees will be covered in light pink blossoms. The Beatles "Good Day Sunshine."

That tree is gorgeous. Makes for a great subject and look at that sunlight! I'll never forget the day I chose that particular song on a jukebox player in an old diner in Snohomish. It had been raining and gray all day until the moment that song came on when suddenly huge streams of sun rays came in. Pretty cool!
Ruth -- I like the look of "easel shots" like this one, too. You can get a good sense of what the artist was looking at while painting. Thanks for the comment!

Joni: what a great memory of a great song! I think that people living in the Northwest have a greater appreciation for sunny days! I know I do!
The tree abstracted is cool, as only you can do it.
