pastel on Bristol
successful project!
I have loved this self-imposed project, but it feels like I have taken it as far as I want to for now. Pastels are cleaned and put away. Time to look over the group of completed paintings and pick out my favorites. What do you think?

not sure....but I think my favorite is the "Polar" looking one (the 2nd one in on the wall). Good project---! Do you have a favorite?
I'm too influenced by what I am doing in my studio right now. I have strong color biases, and yet I'd need to be color neutral to judge these, as some are pure tones and compliments, and others are not that.
Hmm. I would take this lovely collection and put them in a black and white photo and try to pick that way.
Short of doing that, I would pick the cool 4-color one with the pine tree. I commented on it before.
I especially like the big beach path one in yellow, green, and violet.

I've been responding to the surface complexities showing up in some of the later pieces. They seem to be evolving from graphic to more refined works. That large one you just posted is stunning colorwise and 'happiness' comes to mind. It's got to be that prominent blue doing it. Tell me you're going to go to a couple or three large canvases! I've been enjoying the whole series, thumbnails and all! Wm
First, I like almost all the ones on the wall. Being a admitted color junkie makes some obvious favorites, and I'm a sucker for strong graphics. You're really good at rich blues. The end of winter makes anything yellow or gold appealing. Casey's pick is as astute as always. Um... Just one?
Okay, I keep going back to that gray and gold and peach, second down on the right. The jazzy one.

I will blow a few of these up to 24" x 24" and see what happens. If I like that, I have some big 48" squares that could come into good use.
