How many different ways can I think of to express the idea of a sailboat on the water? Seven times? Ten? How about 70 times 7? More? Seems it's not just about sailboats.
Gene Gill taught for a while at OSA. I realized you really have to do a lot of drawings when he said," You won't be really designing ideas your and paintings till after the 7th thumbnail sketch." He used to assign no fewer than 12 thumbnails for any one painting!
Carrie: what a great suggestion! I'm still working on more sailboat sketches. It's a great theme, with strong shapes, and lots of possibilities. Thanks.
