Blind Bay, Shaw Island

Alto cumulus clouds were obscuring the sun, but the dark reflections of the trees and the pull of the current left a fascinating pattern on the water and the light hit the surfaces of the wavelets to tease.

Chances are good that we will enter British Columbia tomorrow and I don't know what that will mean for my internet connection. Anyone know of a good internet cafe on Salt Spring Island?

Best one so far, IMHO. I can feel the cold. Beautiful.

I like the trash can image, too! You might be channeling Rachel Maxi, just as a thought.

Happy crossing into Canada!

this water is beautiful. It looks just how I would imagine looking out the back of your boat would look.

Great painting! Maybe subtle but can't you feel the cool breeze over the water and hear those soft waves.
For your painting with the bright sky and water and the white zigzag. Maybe that was the sound of the humming boat.

I have been waiting for the time to fully devour and savour your journey--tonight was it!!! over a nice cup of tea.

Katherine I am so enjoying this visual journal and your writings!I especially like the immediacy of this work and your initial inspiration carries through i think--easy to lose when we have more time to work.

I also read about your adventure last year re falling into the water ..made me shiver at such trauma!

I suppose now I will have to wait another few weeks to read your stories--I prefer that as they seem like chapters in a book that will culminate to a happy ending.

Say hi to BC for me. eh?
