Roses and Red Peppers

Roses and Peppers
12 x 9
oil on canvas panel

I have been enjoying my neutral oil palette with little, subtle pops of color. This time, I decided that subtlety can be tedious so I went for a LOUD pop of color. Red peppers! The leaded crystal bud vase cheerfully multiplied the red in its facets and threw the red back at me in unexpected places.

Look at you go girl. This is great. Love seeing your oils progress... I find it encouraging.

i really like the placements in this composition--the groupings, shapes and pallet combined to evoke a beautiful presence, and yes, the movement of the red in the vase adds a nice zing!

Love this little beauty. So Manet...
Did you ever get down to O.C.? You thought you might be here in January. Also, yes it is getting to be plein air season. Next week I am to a workshop with Kim Lordier. Looking forward to getting out with my pastels for a change.
