Oh! You went to the zoo! Where they have a Waldrapp ibis--what a handle for what a bird--and cool cougars and baseball-playing wolves and Puff The Magic Giraffe.
Just talked to a friend who got back from Dubai yesterday, where the world's tallest building spirals into the sky, and where they've built an indoor snow-capped mountain for skiing.
Hi Casey! I did not see the Sand Cats. But they have a new jaguar that was amazing! And, many of the cacti were in bloom. A great place, if hot. Thanks for the compliment on the sketches!
Cindy: the downside of going to the zoo with a sketchpad is that whenever you sketch, all of the people stop looking at the animals and start looking at you. I resisted the urge to grunt like gorilla!
Sam!! The desert is definitely a strange place. I can vouch for that ESPECIALLY after I went to a women's luncheon where many wore Easter bonnets. I loved the one with the flashing lights and stuffed rabbits hot-glued to the brim. Worn by a woman named "Sugar." Strange place, to be sure.

Did you see the Egyptian Sand Cats?
These are very, very good sketches. You have a knack at animals that I envy.
makes me want to go to the zoo with sketchpad in hand....
