Have you ever been intrigued by a basket? Many strands, each important to the integrity of the whole. Whether done tightly to hold water, or loosely to hold goods, baskets are crucial to native life. Over and under, around and back.
I think there's a metaphor in here someplace.

What a great design and I love the colors! As if looking through the weaves to see a memory of a scene.
I'm reminded how my hands felt after basket weaving and chair weaving years ago.
i like how you have abstracted this in your pallett and your strokes seem to emphasize the movement in the repetitive 'over and under'--intriquing..i certainly respond to this type of rhythm and find the repetition meditative...
*So interesting that you were inspired to render this at a time when our birds are weaving baskets to hold and protect their young-so much meaning i think in the weaving of a circular shape-

Suzanne: you got it right. I started with a landscape, washed it down, then plotted out the basket weaving over the top of it. Both views at the same time. Thanks for the comment!
