Happiness is a white pelican

Field trip today with Mom down to the Salton Sea. Along the way, we saw large flocks of migrating American White Pelicans and I was very happy. Even better when we got to the water and saw hundreds of migratory birds! The large white birds you see in the bottom photo, wading in the water, are Great Egrets. What a day!

Such a cool song. A frozen wave? Thats outrageous. Those striped icebergs giving you any ideas? Sounds like you are having a blast!

Love the egrets and pelicans. Add a heron and you have a trifecta of sorts.

I love the way you keep me anchored to the coastal environment. Keep enjoying. My favorite, well one of them, place in the desert strip area is the desert zoo with the sand cats from Egypt. Might be too hot for mom, but a fascinating visit.

Of course, J Tree is the best.

Take care.

Lovely photos of birds with the water. Those ice forms could make great abstract paintings.
Perfect weather for you and Mom to enjoy the So Calif paradise.

These ice forms... ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I've never heard of them. I love that you posted the pictures from the desert. Ain't Earth grand?

William: it tickles me that you're amazed by something I've shared. Woo hoo! Yes, having a great time in the California desert. Thanks for the comment!

Casey: The Living Desert is on our list of places to visit while I'm here. But, first, more Bocci ball. And then a trip out to Pasadena to visit the Pasadena Museum of California Art and the Norton Simon Museum. Life is good! Looks like you had fun at the recently remodeled SFMOMA!

Suzanne: yes, I thought you'd get the contrast between the heat of the California desert and the gorgeous ice berg forms. Abstract, indeed!
