Cleaning the studio floor takes time and elbow grease and getting down on hands and knees to do it. But when it shines like this, it's worth the effort! Man, I sure found a lot of yellow paint on the floor! It must be a much-used color!
I'm making progress with the panel. It's still stable and flat (as you can see in the bottom photo) and covered with two layers of gesso on the back, three layers of gesso and one layer of liquid acrylic on the front. The next step will be a layer of Golden Pumice Gel. Stay tuned!

Nice post! I haven't heard this song for so many years. You always find the cool tunes.
Beautiful studio and esp. the floor!
I actually swept and mopped my studio floor, but my son didn't want me to. He said he really liked it like it was...covered with big black explosions. Boys...
I need to try some surface preps, as well. This is my motivational post.
Such a spotlessly clean studio! With room for the much larger paintings to come! The initial orange/red preparation looks inviting.
What a big, beautiful studio! I now have studio-envy...;)
What a beautiful studio! Can't wait to see what you are up to!
Joni: thanks about the post. Funky old tunes, gotta love 'em.
Hi Casey! I always appreciate your comments. I'm sure if my sons still lived at home they would echo your son's sentiment.
Suzanne! You can only see the clean half of the studio in this photo. The mess is behind me, piled up on the carpet! I'll try to have it cleaned up before you come over so that we can actually sit down!
Lisa: you are welcome to drop in any time you are in the area!
Loriann: good to hear from you! Are you making headway with your own studio creation?
I just enjoyed a nice little trip back in time. Donovan preformed in concert way back in the olden days when I was going to U of O. (1969)
