As much as I love the refuge, I think that this will be my last painting of it for a while. I do not feel excited to paint it and lack of excitement is deadly to a painting. I feel it. The viewer feels it. It's like biting into a garbanzo bean. Bland and boring and just a little bit yucky in your mouth.
