An elegant composition. Divided right in the middle between the bird and it's reflection with the light in the water reaching behind the bird toward the top of the piece.

hey..that Sarah Vaughn song is great..thanks for posting her. As for your Sandpiper--it is just right. I like that it is such a simple subject..but there is the rough texture and complexity of the sand.

This paper, Wallis mounted onto mat board, seems to have more texture than unmounted paper which really helped me scumble pastel to create the sand.
