My body ached from all of the lifting and packing, sorting and sifting at Dad's place. I took a walk with my sketchpad and hoped to ease some of my stress by slowing things down to sketch. Nothing fancy, but the burbling of the water and the splashes and ripples on the surface calmed me. A quick break and then back to work.
We're on our way home now and Dad is in Florida. Life is good!

SORRRY again..I wasn't signed in as the right person.
this looks like a wedding cake in the thumbnail..such clean colors!
I walked yesterday first time I had gone any distance in almost five weeks. It was indeed good. I am so glad you are feeling better it is a trying time moving.
Glad to hear Life is Good with your Dad. I like those sketches of the view from Dad's place. You mean he wasn't fully surrounded by Calif suburbs yet ?!
Good luck with the road trip.
I ,too, tried sketching while in the passenger seat. Not worth entering into any shows. : )
Very sweet!
I do hope your dad adapts well to Florida. It would be so hard to leave what you have known for so many years. What a great gesture to give him that painting. No wonder there were tears from him. I so feel for him. He will treasure it.
Great blog and fine art.
God bless and keep that paint flowing.
Early reports from Dad about Florida are all EXCELLENT! He had lunch at a table with three other men, who identified themselves as "The Three Musketeers, but we could use a fourth." Dad enjoyed their company and later took a long walk with one of the fellows. Dad walks at a steady 4 mph and this guy kept pace.
Thank you all for your kind words and comments during this time. It means a LOT.
