Death on the Dock

The gulls had a tasty feast when the tide went out at Campbell River. They plucked the crabs off of the rocks and brought them back to the dock for dinner. One afternoon, the dock was covered in shells and loose legs of crab carcasses. Step carefully!

They can be aggrssive birds but they do bring a joy in the watching. I love your sketch of them. Thanks again for just being you.

Yeah, I like seeing your sketchbook, too. I'm too messy to be legible. Have you seen susancornelis.wordpress.com ?

Thanks for the comments! It's not always possible to paint, but often possible to sketch. I watched the gulls for a long time. Made me glad I wasn't a crab!

Hi Sam! I've seen Susan Cornelis' blog and love her sketches -- especially the recent goats and chickens.
